The old world and the new
Iain Crichton Smith has a poem about the "old world" being "blown back into the new " which describes the jolt one feels as a result of the sudden intervention of something from the past into one's present existence,
I walked out of Dynamic Earth this afternoon after a panel discussion about Brexit at the RICS conference to see this - two buses from Dodds of Troon , which had obviously brought school trips through from Ayrshire.
The company is part of my childhood , as I grew up in Troon. I went on school trips on these buses , albeit the 1960s versions . So seeing then against the backdrop of the Parliament collided past and present.
Blowing the old world back into the new .
