Menstrie Flood
Michelle and Erin Drove through a biblical rainstorm in the Hillfoots on the way to trampolining in Stirling tonight. After dropping Erin off at the sports centre I joined her off the bus and we headed home to find that on the way the river at Menstrie had burst it's banks and houses and an old folks home were quickly flooding. After the obligatory blip we decided to head back to pick Erin up before the river rose further and cut the road off home (we stay in the next town along which is surrounded by more flood prone roads than this one.
After picking up Corrie in Alloa, we discovered that this was just a very localised flood and all other roads were fine. Terrible for the Menstrie folk flooded out of their homes tonight though.
I thought I'd had enough excitement for one day, but my new camera had also arrived and was waiting for me. An Olympus Pen .. a funky little thing that I can't wait to get cracking with. Tomorrow will be my first blip with it!
