After wandering down the Via del Gambino to the Trevi Fountain we strolled over to the Colosseum, impressive and appalling in equal measure. A place of entertainment, a circus, a place of plays, battles and torture, and eventually, a place of worship. One third of the area was dedicated as a hospital, and it also became the setting for the Passion Play on Good Friday. Pics today, inside the Colosseum & Trevi Fountain.
