An afternoon gardening
Well, first things first, we only went and bloomin won the quiz!! Clear winners too, 2nd 101 points, winners 107 points yay!!! £17 in the kitty, but it's the quodos of winning that counts. Ok enough of that!
We were late to bed, but slept pretty well again. Mild today and no wind either, so we just nipped out for a paper and some milk, and the plan was to work in the garden, but then it started spitting with rain!! :-/ so we decided on a quick trip to a local garden centre, hub got his seed potatoes, we also got a new nesting box.
We had a quick coffee and sandwch, before getting stuck into the garden! The rain never did come to anything. hub sorted the green house, got rid of the old grow bags, weeded some of the beds whilst I tackled the pond, it's half clears, but needs more work yet! I also cut back the black sambuca a bit more and the red cottinus, it was encroaching over the garden behind. The green bin is full to the brim again, it was only emptied yesterday, two weeks until it's emptied again :-/ last thing before calling it a day, a quick shot of yet another hellebore, I love the colours on this one! Thanks to Biker Bear for her continuing commitment to hosting Flower Friday :-)
We didn't have crispy mackerel salad for dinner as planned last night, just had a bowl of pea and ham soup instead, might have to have soup again pre quiz next week ;-) so it's mackerel tonight instead :-)
Hope you are all ready for your weekend break out there :-)
