Chris led a small group of us up onto Whitbarrow Scar. The clouds looked threatening from time to time but apart from a few splashes of rain, we remained dry.

The views at the top were well worth the climb. This one overlooked the Kent estuary and far beyond so that we could pick out Blackpool Tower on the horizon.

Looking in the other direction, Chris pointed out other well known hills - Fairfield Horseshoe, the Langdales, and Lingmoor Fell from behind.

So much to see near our own front door. How privileged we are.
