Promenade

A spot of gorilla knitting down on the seafront at Southsea to draw your interest away from the sea towards the war memorial which towers high on the opposite side of the promenade.

In Extras, one of several Victorian beach shelters, which sit along the promenade.  I like their cheerful colours sand decorative ironwork, and the fact they are there with the expectation that people will be using the beach on wet and windy days!

It was really busy down at the seafront today.  We sat and watched the Isle of Wight ferry and boats going to and from the harbour, then lunched at one of our favourite bistros.  Afterwards we walked along the promenade at Southsea past the castle and towards South Parade Pier.  A grand day out at the seaside.
