Evening Assembly....

Tonight I was out with my pal Aileen (she who always makes me have a dessert), for dinner at Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant, which has just opened in the refurbished Assembly Rooms.

Oh my - glitz, glamour, and gallons of gilding everywhere (and that was just the customers!)

We sat beside a severely botoxed trio, who looked as though they'd never eaten so much as a breadstick between them in the past twenty years. They argued for ages over the bill (one of them had had a second sparkling water!) before teetering off into the night on vertiginous heels.

It was fab - and the food wasn't bad either!
