Glaucous Gull

The 1st winter bird that has been on the Peedie Sea in Kirkwall for a while, as has a 1st winter Iceland gull, though I didn't see it today.  These are nearctic gulls that only visit the UK in the winter. This has been a good year for them- there are ones and twos in various spots in Orkney just now. Not often you'll see this bird with a Tesco in the background.
