It's Not Every Day....

...that you bump into Johnny Depp at the local council recycling centre (aka the tip)...

Went to to dispose of some rubbish at the tip and as I approached the skip for the cardboard, this chap came walking towards me...

I did have to do  a double take - then realised that one of the staff had just retrieved Johnny from the skip and was carrying him along. The life size cardboard cut out was then affixed to the the gate upright, where I proceeded to take this shot....

The staff at Thorp Arch tip do a great job of clearing the place and decorating it with discarded rubbish (I suppose it  helps towards the recycling target). It is not unusual to see lions, tigers penguins, cows, horses and elephants lurking in the bushes. And there are no end of flowerpot folk and tubs of seasonal flowers.   

Our lounge radiator valve has decided to spring a leak and we now have have a soggy, smelly carpet. The system couldn't decide to spring a leak in a room with an old carpet - but no, it had to choose the room with the four month old carpet. Engineer coming tomorrow to sort it (hopefully). Need to get advice on whether the carpet can be cleaned or if we will have to buy a new one. I am really not liking 2017 so far....
