Bowled over

Despite a late night we started early, chatted and had a leisurely breakfast.
It has been a glorious day with blue and cloudless skies.

We set off at noon and made our first stop at the Gurdwara Sahib, Sikh temple in Blackburn. The compound was huge; there is a Punjabi school, music room and library and a huge Langar hall where we had kadi and rice. A van with the number plate Guruji is parked outside and used to pick up senior members of the congregation. Hearing the Kirtan, even though it wasn't being performed live but a recording, moved me to tears.

We drove on south east to the Dandenong ranges through Olinda, Sassafras, Sherbrooke forest and spent the afternoon eating and sitting in the sun at a delightful farm and former bowling alley converted to a cafe. We have lots to talk about.

We've just picked up some Indian dinner and are on our way home for a night in and more of everything.
