Today's the day ..................... for a bit of weather

Do you think that our weather is getting more and more inclement as time goes by?

I wouldn't be surprised if you did, because that's what the media would have you believe.  We are bombarded with weather warnings that have to get more and more extreme to provide headlines that will grab our attention.  And attaching a name to a bit of weather works wonders in this regard.  If we've got an Angus, Conor or Barbara  to blame instead of the Met Office - or even the Almighty himself - then that's even better.  It's an instant reason to close airports, cancel trains and generally shut down normal life.

We travelled south today in the company of Doris with dire warnings of the chaos and havoc that she would wreak on her way across the country.  And yes - it wasn't blue skies and sun - but then it's February, and surely it's the sort of weather we might expect at this time of the year.

It's just a bit of wintry weather, isn't it ......................?
