Day 18 - The Wishing Well Band Tour
So, I'm slightly cheating by using a picture from yesterday's Brighton beach walk with 4 others from the band. Yes we did look like something from the beatles... I fell in love with this view for some reason so am having to Blip it!
Today, we headed to Reading (from Gatwick Travelodge) for a busking session. I was pretty sleepy most of the day but got there by tea time
The same weirdos were out in force, joined by a HUGE man and I mean HUGE man, again, with some clear mental problems who as he left after speaking to Andy and I said "you guys rock, you guys are brilliant, you guys are simply... the best...". He then waddled off...
I wasn't playing to perfection today, notes just weren't sitting under my fingers correctly.
We go back to Reading for a gig on Sunday evening so hopefully our weirdo busking sessions have drummed up some support! :)
Off to our accommodation for the night... Before another busking session followed by a gig in Cambridge tomorrow night.
I am loving the tour but I'd pay someone for just 1 day at home, musicians don't get that luxury though. No such thing as holiday days or sick days... You've got to get on that stage and perform no matter what... The reality is a lot tougher than you'd think... I'm far from complaining though! Genuinely living the dream. I'm getting paid to play my violin...! Need to pinch myself sometimes...
I love it.
You know what, I'm seriously lucky if you asked me 5 years ago where I saw myself in 5 years time sitting in a tour bus with 6 other brilliant musicians would never have been what I thought would be my reality!!
"The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins."
