Cliche Rock Band in a Laundrette day...
Tough day, very negative feedback from "the boss" after this afternoons performance which got to me but I didn't let myself show her. She's been drumming into us to be positive and get the positive vibe flowing yet it was her the only one on that stage being negative...
We woke up near Biggleswade and headed to Cambridge for said performance. We then headed to the Monarch Coin Laundry! - There is nothing more cliche than a rock back siting having a meeting in the laundrettes... We call these meetings "dirty laundry" however I decided for me, it was best just to keep my mouth shut. I know where I made 3 tiny an 1 big mistake in my playing today and I know I can improve that... But being negative about it doesn't help... I understand the points made but I don't understand rudeness.
Extremely tired having just got to the (1.30am) .
We had a gig tonight in The Man on the Moon, Cambridge. Supported by 3 other acts, one being Perkelt which I genuinely loved the sound they made! Check them out on Facebook - never heard a recorder being played in such a way!!
We finished the gig and I had time for a few drinks with Declan. I was sat at a table with a girl who then told me (this was after the gig) that she had also auditioned for my part in June time. Made me realise how lucky I am and how global my competition has been...
