Grange Over Sands Promenade

Plans for a walk on the hills took back stage to the weather today. Strong winds and lashing rain greeted us this morning. Plan B had to come into play. Namely await a lull in the rain and then head out with the dog.

By lunchtime the rain had all but stopped so we went for a walk along the promenade into the town centre. The cafes were crammed full of people taking shelter. The lake in the park was over flowing giving an indication of how much rain there has been.

As the rain started again made for the sanctuary of the cottage and lit the log burner. Fortunately the rugby provided the entertainment.

Thoughts are with those that are braving the conditions to compete in the British Night Orienteering Championships at Great Tower this evening.
