Hissing Sid
I only had a second to take this photo so unfortunately I didn't realize I was slightly too close for the lens ... but the pine needles are nice and sharply focused. :-(
It is the third unseasonably warm day here in New England and we went for a walk on the Weston Aqueduct near the Sudbury River Oxbow. Such a nice day and hard to believe that we had about 18 inches of snow lying on the ground two weeks ago. Now nothing.
The Sudbury River was high because of all the melt water and the Oxbow has a beaver dam at one end causing a large area of trees and reeds to flood. We saw a few geese and ducks enjoying the weather. As we walked along the edge of the reed beds I heard a rustle in the leaves and saw this little fellow sunning himself. Looks to be a garter snake.
