As I Saw A Blackbird, Brighton

It was an early start (relatively, it is the weekend!) as we had to get down to Brighton to park the car near our hotel before all the parking spaces disappeared. Tomorrow is the half marathon we've sort of been training for - we've done plenty of long runs or as we like to call it TOYFT (Time On Your Feet Training!), so we'll have to see if it will be enough to help us finish the race. It's my brother's first ever half marathon so I've promised to make sure he gets round the course in more or less one piece.
The hotel we're staying in was famous for it's lugubrious cat called Mr.Watts - a year or so ago on a previous visit he managed to sneak into my room and spend the whole night sleeping on my bed! Unfortunately, he passed away late last year but is comemmorated by an "approved" blue plaque in the hallway.
Today is mainly about having a relaxing time, having a bit of a walk and taking a few photographs. Today's shot was just something I spotted down a little alleyway that I immediately thought would look great in black and white. Slightly foreboding but strangely beautiful.
The other image from today couldn't be more different - I noticed these girls looking at this display of an old school mobile phone (I think Nokia is bringing this model back again) and thought this must be like some ancient curiosity to them compared to their smartphones.
