"Arrr, there be Pandas'

As Pandas only eat bamboo we thought there may be one or two pandas living in our garden. No sign of any today however although there were obviously some interesting smells around the bottom of the rotting Eucalypt tree.
The tree had been planted when we got back from Tasmania in early 2002 but it grew huge. We had a 'tree charlatan surgeon' come and lop it back a bit upon which it slowly gave up the ghost and died.
We cut off the long branches that were left and stored them for the outside fire-pit but left the stump and one branch for a swing. Now it is just a haven for insects and spiders and also a nesting box. The insects seem to like it.
