Mystery tarns
It was bright and sunny this morning so I ventured out and embarked on a 7 mile circular walk to the east of Cartmel. There were good, long sunny spells interspersed with the occasional shower for the outward half before it clouded over for the inward section. When least expecting it I came across a couple of very small tarns - so small in fact that I cannot even find them on the map. The area had the feel of an old disused quarry although again nothing is indicated on the map. Google maps shows a small area of water but there is nothing on the OS map that I can see
The decision to walk this morning was a good one as it rained most of the afternoon so I occupied myself with the unexciting but necessary task of sanding and painting a door frame.
