Retrospective exhibition of Jarmo Mäkilä

We visited Sara  Hildén Art Museum today, where is Jarmo Mäkilä's chronologically structured exhibition. Jarmo Mäkilä is one of the most significant postmodern artists in Finland. He is known for his versatility and ability to evolve his artistic expression. He combines historical and contemporary elements together with rich, baroque-like expression. Mäkilä has dealt with social issues, popular culture, the history of painting and questions concerning human existence. 

The exhibition was just great! We all liked it a lot. In the blip photo Emma and Leevi are observing Mäkilä's painting called The School Gang.
