Catching a lift with Grandpa

Woken up at 4am, 5.30am then finally, there was no escaping at 6.30 and the day properly started.  One very tired toddler after a late night, so he was not all sunny and rosy this morning - anything but.  This didn't bode well for a morning with Granny and Grandpa and I started out with slight trepidation of what was going to be in-store.  We were off to Westonbirt Arboretum, which was utterly fantastic.  Should not have worried - the combination of an audience and the outdoors, he was a complete delight.  Tears when he quite literally did a commando roll out the side of the push-chair as we were going along, but the boy did very well.

Another walk this afternoon, and we passed some neighbours who have often said I should pop in and see their garden - and we did today.  What a treat.  Turns out the gardens are amazing, with about 200 varieties of snowdrops - including their very own variety.  They are avid collectors of snow drops and we had a quick lesson all about them.  And I had sort of assumed that a snow drop is, well, a snow drop.  Lovely time having a tour of their garden with a cup of tea (or chocolate biscuit if your coming up 2).
