Theatre by the lake

I made good time on my drive over the Roman Road by Hadrian's Wall and so to the motorway, and across to Keswick to meet old friend Joan.

This blip is from the new (to me) cafe at the theatre where the literary festival is held, overlooking Derwentwater. It was grey and misty.

Nothing grey about Harriet Harman though - she spoke well about feminism and politics and was very honest about what she perceived as her short-comings, as well as being candid about her opinions of other politicians. Refreshing! Later she was in conversation with Emma Jane Kirby, the BBC radio contributor, when they discussed migration. EJK had written a book based on her experiences interviewing people living on Lampedusa and how they were affected by migrants dying at sea. It was very moving.
