Second Flush

After the apparent disaster and my loving attention the Amaryllis has rewarded my efforts by producing a second flush of brilliant red blooms from the bud that was just showing colour.

To prevent a repetition of the event the plant is now supported by a string around its neck the flower head attached to an old flatiron a heavy weight placed on the top of the dresser next to it.
