It's Clear

It's clear, on this last Saturday of summer break, that I've been more content to gripe about lack of river access than I have been to finding it.

No longer.

Thanks to fabulous, adventurous friends, today lured me to the stone cobbled banks of the clear North Fork of the Santiam where we simply soaked in the goodness of crystal pools and verdant forest.

All those times I pined for woody wilderness and clean, swimmable pools I could have been there. Wish we'd made the realization of its nearness and beauty sooner in the season.

No matter. Now it's clear next summer's destination is decided.
