Old Man's Beard

After the rain and wind of yesterday, the dry weather of today - with hints of sunshine - felt wonderful.  This 'old man's beard' is growing on a fence next to the railway line.  I have always liked the fluffy tendrils of the seedheads.  It was from this plant that I collected seedheads to go into the weath I made for my front door last Christmas.  It seems amazing the little parts that make up each seedhead have not been blown away in the wind - perhaps they are designed to do that later in the year when the weather has warmed up.
