Gloucester Docks ( from the bus)
Yes, Gloucester has docks! The Gloucester and Sharpness canal linked the river Severn and Gloucester with the canal network and allowed the passage of , for example, coal from the West Midlands down to Bristol. It closed for commercial traffic in the 1960s.
These fine Victorian warehouses have been converted, and the area now houses shops, a marina, restaurants, pubs, a boatyard, new flats, an old
Mariners' church, and so on, as well as a new shopping mall. If you visit Gloucester, it's well worth a visit, as well as the Cathedral.
Damn! I cut off the feet! I am trying to set up a group chat with family members in multiple time zones, so the messages keep pinging in and I am distracted...
