Lion around

Went to survey the area we are going to be working on. It's a small patch of land with a metal hut, where Mama Lydia looks after more than 20 children every day. Incredible respect for this woman. Hopefully we can add some colour and much needed attention to get it to a standard which will allow her to get more support. Will post some more before and after shots later in the week.

Painted some tyres in big bright primary colours. Winter only officially ended here today but it is rather nice 25°C. I was thinking about Edinburgh and the hailstones earlier this week but quickly got distracted by all the sun.

Went to a lion park in the afternoon. You just drive your car around next to these lions who are a couple of feet from you. No fences, just big signs everywhere saying PLEASE CLOSE YOUR WINDOWS. It was forceful enough that I got the impression being eaten was quite a realistic possibility. Most of them were sleeping though, as in this picture.

We also petted some lion cubs. Then a giraffe tried to eat my shorts.
