Qu'ils mangent de la brioche
I spent an enjoyable morning taking photos at Dunscore School and PreSchool. The School became a FairAware school at the end of last year, and today, as it is still Fairtrade Fortnight, Colin Smyth, who is Fairtrade Champion on the local council, came to present the award during morning assembly. The children had been busy baking (with Fairtrade ingredients, of course) and held a coffee morning (to fit with this year's theme of "Fairtrade Breaks").
After coffee in the staff room, we went next door to the PreSchool, who were also having a coffee morning for parents and carers. My own children came here over 15 years ago and I noticed that the old sandpit and climbing frame are still there. The kitchen, with its breakfast bar is a brand-new addition, however.
What impressed me most of all is that Lee (serving the children in the photo) was speaking to them in French. Incroyable!
