Bowling in the basin
I went into Glasgow today to act as moral support for my daughter - she was getting another car. It rained all the way down and looking for somewhere to have an early picnic lunch we turned off the main road into Bowling and parked down by the Forth & Clyde Canal.
Another wet picnic in the car, but as the rain eased off a bit I walked back to take some photographs - I thought the scene was quite photogenic and the misty conditions helped.
Where the canal emerges into the River Clyde is the old Bowling Basin, much loved by photographers in the past because of the derelict boats lying around. I must investigate another day!
On the way home later in the afternoon we drove along beside Loch Lomond - it was looking wonderful, though I couldn't stop to take photographs as I was driving behind my daughter in her new(er) car and didn't want to drop back. On our side of the loch the cloud was hanging in the tree-tops, on the other side streamers of cloud were hanging down the mountainsides and in between, patches of vapour were suspended above the water making a very picturesque scene!
