A Pool with a View

The alarm was set for 6.30am as we needed to leave for the airport before 9am. I wanted to Blip the hotel pool, so I nipped down at 7.30 to get some photos before it was open for use.

The pool area and bar is on the second floor and overlooks the marina so has a great view.

Once at the airport we had access to the lounge again and had a hot breakfast and champagne - well, they offered and it would have been rude to say no!

Alan pointed out that the DJ Chris Moyles was sat at the table next to us, and he was on our flight.

The flight was great, and this time because it was a daytime flight, we could benefit fully from the upper class service, had a delicious meal and free flowing wine and champagne. Luckily we were being picked up in a taxi, so there was no problem about needing to drive.

Unfortunately though our taxi driver wasn't there and had only been despatched at 3.15pm, when our flight arrived at 4.05pm. There's no possible way you can get from Brighton to Heathrow in 45 minutes! The driver finally arrived just before 5pm and said he was only given the job at 3.15pm. He was very nice and whilst it wasn't his fault, I have lodged a complaint with the taxi company. I've said that they charge waiting time, so we want a reduction for the time we had to wait. The manager has said he'll look into what happened and will come back to me on Monday.

Anyway we're unpacked and very tired, so it's an early night - it's 9pm which is 1am Dubai time. Night, night!
