Brighton Illuminations
The weather was awful this morning, so I took Jacqui to the supermarket to stock up on English necessities that she can't get in Belgium, or if she can they're expensive, such as cereal, bacon, Indian curries and Cadbury's chocolate and Easter Eggs, The chocolate I found quite funny bearing in mind Belgian chocolate is one of the best!
I took her to Asda at the marina, and when we'd done the shopping the rain had stopped, so we went for a walk along the boardwalk, but by the time we got to the far end, it started raining very heavily and we got soaked!
We came home and had lunch, by which time it had stopped raining, so the three of us headed into town at about 3pm. The sky started to clear and it ended up being a nice afternoon, and we took her round the Lanes, the Royal Pavilion gardens, North Laine and the final stop was the pier to watch the murmuration/sunset. Alan left us at this point and he caught the bus home, but we stayed out until nearly 7pm.
There weren't many birds tonight and the murmuration was quite small in comparison to how it's been, but at leas she saw some and the sunset was pretty spectacular. I also met a girl in the 'Brighton Skies' Facebook group that I'm a member of - purely by chance she was stood next to us and we got talking. Once the sun had set we walked to the end of the pier as I wanted to get some photos of the carousel and I liked how the lights from the helter skelter were reflecting on the sea.
We caught the bus home and I ordered an Indian takeaway to collect once we got back into Saltdean, but being a Saturday night it was 40 minutes before it would be ready, so once we got off the bus we went to the little tea room where they have a drinks licence. We had a quick drink and then picked up the food, which was particularly nice tonight. Oh, and I came home to a lovely bouquet of flowers that had been delivered from Rachel, Scott and the girls for Mother's Day, which was a very nice surprise.
It's been another nice day, but I've not had any chance to to look at Blip and it's now 1am so I'm going to sleep. Apologies for the lack of comments, I'll try and catch up tomorrow when Jacqui's gone home.
