Narcissus cyclamineus

Spotted in a verge by a field while out on a jolly nice bike ride this morning. These are possibly the daintiest of the Narcissus. Only about 10-15cm tall and instead of the tepals being arranged around the trumpet like blowsy windmill sails they are swept right back looking as though they are battling against a robust head wind. I couldn't get my phone to focus on the flower (maybe it's not as fond of them as I am) so the image is annoyingly unsharp.

Later on I went to the butchers to stock up for the week and found they are now selling goat meat. An inevitable consequence of goat milk production I suppose. They warned me slow cooking for a long time was essential. I fear dinner may be very late tonight!
