A Day Of Two Halves

This was close to being a good day and close to being a miserable day.

There were a number of candidates for my list of things that wind me up such as holes 13 and 16 in this mornings golf, coming fourth and out of the prizes again, seeing St James' Park covered in tacky blue and red signs and Aston Villa scoring.

On balance I think the positives just about won the day. I played 16 holes ok, I putted quite well, the company was good, the sun was out, there was no rain, and monsieur Ben Arfa scored a great goal.

With a bit of positive thinking I think we can class today as a glass half full day.

The Blip is proof that the sun does shine occasionally this far north.
