A Flying Start

On a short stroll round the lanes this morning I was faced with this chap strolling towards me in the middle of the lane......but even though I stopped walking he got spooked when I raised the camera ( I expect he thought 'better safe than sorry' ). Normally I'd be really annoyed that I'd scared a subject off but today I was quite pleased as I've never managed to catch a pheasant in flight before :-)

This afternoon we decided to make a start on tidying up the garden ( boy does it need it!! ) .......several hours and many aching muscles later it looks a little better but there's still loads to do :-/
