An Almost Busy Day at Carskey Bay
10.1C with a few light showers during a cloudy morning then clearing to a sunny afternoon with a few white clouds. Moderate W/WNW breeze.
Maeve the Deerhound slept through until the alarm clock. I got up then and took her for a walk so we could all be ready to watch the repeat of Gardener's World at 8.30am.
Grocery shopping over by mid morning. Maeve stayed at home.
We went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay. One or two seals were swimming just off the rocks at Kiel, waiting for the tide to drop so they could haul out.
At Carskey we walked along with Maeve to the far end and came back again. Maeve was very slow but she perked up and barked at each of the three other dogs we met with their owners. Mostly one large bark, as it is from a Maeve. One as we walked towards the far end and two on the way back to the car park. Out to sea we saw half a dozen or so Gannets and there were a few Ringed Plovers on the beach.
One seal was out on a rock when we drove back along past Kiel.
There were two boxes of eggs for sale at Little farm's roadside stand today. I bought a box.
Later Apothecary7 was putting Gesso on a canvas for a new painting.
Afternoon music ... BBC Radio 2.
