Heading for Picton
Today was spent with Council Members and staff discussing strategic plans for the next five years. I will no longer be on Council after the middle of this year, having had the three terms I am permitted. It is certainly time I stepped down and the Minister can appoint someone else.
On the way out to the airport, the taxi took us along Oriental Parade and then Evans Bay Parade, the more pleasant of the two routes from the city. One of the ferries from Wellington across the Cook Strait to Picton had just started its journey, and despite the jerkiness of the driver, I managed to get this photo between the accelerations and decelerations, which were frequent and unpredictable. One of the least pleasant taxi rides I've had in a long time.
