Grisedale Pike
On a beautiful spring morning, I set out from Braithwaite to walk the Coledale Horseshoe. This photo shows the approach to Grisedale Pike (791m/2,593ft), the first summit on the round. It was very windy on the tops with remnants of snow on north-facing aspects, contrasting with the warmth of the valley. When I arrived back in Braithwaite five and a half hours later, it felt like summer.
