Cockermouth Cemetery

The north-west was wet and grey for most of the day. Late afternoon, the sun burst through the clouds and I took the opportunity to see the spring flowers in the cemetery. It is renowned for the swathes of snowdrops which give way to crocuses and daffodils, later followed by celandines, bluebells and wood anenomes. The cemetery is a tranquil and beautiful place through which a small river flows, and where red squirrels can often be seen.
