Heading down to Badia in the valley
Isn't there supposed to be snow? This has been a winter without much snow in the Dolomites. The ski slopes are OK thanks to snow canons and piste machines. On the shady side of the valley the little snow that has fallen hasn't all melted so even away from the ski slopes it is white, but on the sunny side, lower down in the valley...
We skied right down to the village of Badia where there was no snow. We sat out in the sun for a while after lunch and then took a gondola lift back up the mountain, back into the white world.
The extra shows the sunset light shining on the cloud and the mountain peak seen from our hotel room.
