Varied

I had such a beautiful walk with colourful Mai on Dartmoor. This time it was in Bellever Forest - a sparkling river with clapper bridge, sheep, horses, a cist and stone row, Bellever Tor and old stone walls. As usual talking so much we went off route and thought we had missed the cist and stone row - then after a squelchy walk through brackish mud we stumbled upon it! Then we met the horses who were most inquisitive and wanted to eat our backpacks! Dartmoor really has a beauty all it's own, and this area was well populated in the Bronze Age, with the remains of over 30 hut circles. Difficult to decide on what to blip so lots of extras and the virtual walk on Dartmoor here if you fancy it!
On the way home we stopped for corn for the girls and rat bait. New restrictions are now in place and unless you are licensed you can only buy a small tub of bait - and they had sold out! So back to the old way with a rat trap, which I actually feel more at ease using. A "nicer" and hopefully quicker way of killing them - i still regret the fact I have to do it but rat tunnels on the girls plot is just not good. It will be interesting to see whether the coop members are any better at baiting it than they are doing all the other chores - anyone want to lay a bet on it?!
