A hectic week-end

By the time I had returned from my day out at Leighton Moss yesterday son T  had arrived for the week-end with girlfriend R. Daughter K had got engaged on Friday so the news had to be transmitted around the family - there was some celebrating to do even in K and C's absence!

The weather was pretty miserable today until mid to late afternoon. We managed a wander around Bowness in the rain to replenish supplies of the local delicacy Damson Gin,  a brisk walk up Stock Ghyll to the falls in showers and a visit to the gingerbread shop in Grasmere before heading home for a roast dinner.

I posted a picture of the falls earlier in the week in extras but after all the rain of the last few days the volume of water coming down was at least twice what it as on Tuesday and noise was fairly thunderous.
