morning of a hot day

As I type this at 3:31 pm, it is 88ºF (31ºC) here in Lawrence, Kansas! I do not know what has happened to the weather. Later in the week it will be much cooler, but this is just crazy! There are prairie fires burning just north of us that I think are pretty well contained now. Not huge, about 300 acres the last I heard.
