First day of a new academic year for our learners today. It's always great to get them into the classroom and enthuse them about the year ahead.
Hard to believe there are only 34 Mondays left this academic year! Best get cracking!

It was also the last kg the summer handicap races at our running club. On the left with the clipboard is Marian. She and her husband Keith, are the unsung heros of the handicaps. They set all the handicap times, do the starts, times and results.

I couldn't stay as it was our village club day AGM. We had to elect a new president tonight following Harry's death last week. But in true Harry style he left us his wishes as to who should succeed him. Ken is the chosen man but was most reluctant. But we convinced him when we reminded him that this year is the 50th year of the sports day committee and as he has been there since day 1 he is the natural successor. The AGM went ahead because Harry insisted we must. He's going to be watching us for a long time yet!
