2017 Saturday -- Sandpiper

This photo is from a late afternoon stroll on the sand with Mr. Fun and the three pups on the south beach in Cayucos.

We spent our morning doing housework; getting the place tidy and shiny for a rare moment with friends this evening. Here on the Central Coast we have lovely neighbors and a few friendly acquaintances, but friends, not really.

But this past Wednesday afternoon I received a text from Patti, a SoCal friend who we have not seen in a long, long time. She and her hubby Jim were going to be spending the weekend in Cayucos to celebrate their anniversary and wanted to know if we'd be available for dinner Saturday evening.

So this evening Patti & Jim are coming to our beach place for the first time, and then we'll be going to dinner. Therefore, we did housework this morning. Neither of us favor housework, but we got it done. Then the reward -- strolling the shoreline.

Patti & Jim arrived about 6:45. The plan was to watch the 7:15 sunset, but the grey overcast day did not produce a sunset. We had a 7:45 dinner reservation at Schooners Restaurant. This was a good evening of getting reacquainted with friends from long ago.

That's how we spent the last Saturday of winter.
