MONO MONDAY: COMMUNITY OLD HAY RAKE
Back in the '50 & 60's, cutting, raking, and baling hay was a COMMUNITY affair. This was a rural, poor area, and implements, as well as work, were shared. One family had a cutter, our family had a rake, another had an old baler. Everyone's welfare was intertwined and families were interdependent. Work was a way of life, and, on baling day, it was rewarded with a meal of homegrown meat and vegetables! My Hubs remembers riding on the seat of this very rake.
Thank you, SKEENA, for hosting.
