A day to forget
The camellias at the bottom of the garden are really coming into their own. Despite being blown to bits yesterday, snowed on heavily overnight and rained on all day today they still look cheerful and beautiful.
I, however, have had a day to forget. Awoken at an unfashionable hour in order to take Mr.B to Oxenholme for the train I found there was no hot water for a shower. On opening the curtains I was surprised to see that it had snowed quite heavily (by southern standards). This was my first experience of driving through Cumbria's little lanes in snow though thankfully it is light by 6:30am at the moment. Mr. B was safely deposited at the station so I returned home to prepare for a day's volunteering with CWT. I left the house without my OS map and although I thought I knew where I was going I clearly didn't and failed to fine the rendezvous point. Disappointed I headed into Kendal where I failed to find what I need in both Homebase and B&Q. Thankfully tomorrow is another day which I am hoping will be more successful although at least the hot water has been restored.
