Coniston
Spent the day roaming around the Coniston area. First stop was High Nibthwaite. I started by 'appreciating' Antony Gormley's bronze statue of himself (extras) before heading up Brock Barrow for some lovely views down the length of Coniston Water. It was blowing on top and quite cool as I waited for the sun to arrive on the peaks. I then parked up on the eastern shore at Low Peel Near and walked along the shore through the woodland to High Peel Near. Some improvisation was required as the lake is currently very high and a small boat or waders would have been useful to reach one of the stiles (extras). I continued on to Coniston where I ended my day trip with a walk up past the old copper mines towards Levers Water (extras).
