Velodrome

WOW!
We had the good fortune of a couple of Paralympic athletic tickets for this morning's session at the stadium.

There wasn't a spare seat in the house, nor a dry eye after David Weir's victory ceremony for his 5000m wheelchair race the night before.

I was completely awed by the whole experience, the setting, organisation, the wonderful smiling volunteers, the enthusiasm of the spectators and above all the dedication and determination of the athletes.
Whatever cynicism or dread Londoners might have felt before the Olympics began has been entirely overshadowed by the whole spectacle.
I felt really lucky today to have been a tiny part of it - it was goosebumps all the way.
