Cumbria Here I Come

Bowness on Solway sunset

Its been ages since I've seen a lovely sunset so had to blip it.

Met up with PaulaJ and Gordon this morning.  The plan was to walk along a lonning at Waverbridge, but it was so very muddy after all the rain, we abandoned that idea and went to nearby Blencogo instead to find a well which was very easy to find or rather the spot where the well used to be, its now a village pump.  Afterwards we went to Bromfield which has a lovely old church and a well in a nearby and very boggy field.  Paula and I watched Gordon walk through the boggy field to the well which apparently had water in it.  Paula has more information in her journal.

Afterwards I wanted to go up Latrigg nr Keswick as there was snow on Skiddaw but roadworks meant the road was closed and didn't particularly want to do a long detour.  So many many roads closed around here at the moment.  So we ended up at Caldbeck Common where there were patches of snow, have put one in extras with Misty posing.  As we left, the sun came out.
