Loveliest of Trees
Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.
Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.
And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

The most amazing day, wall to wall sunshine, warm and everywhere full with birdsong and things bursting forth, including this rather gorgeous Autumn cherry (that's what it says on the label). I have been in the garden all day - grass mowing, bed digging, hydrangea pruning. Sadly little Chirp has not been seen for sometime and I fear may have gone to the great nest in the sky; but son of Chirp may be around and Mrs B, the blackbird was having a brilliant time worm-wise.
