Birthday boy

Dad was 80 today.

The day started (a little too) early..... mum& dad never sleep well and get up at the crack of dawn, if not before. Lucy stayed at Rebecca's last night and this morning Rebecca dropped lucy off here before she went onto work, another surprise for mum & dad. Rebecca joined us later in the day when she finished work.

We had breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with Buck's Fizz and the first of several little presents given to dad during the day. His main present from us, apart from the holiday, was a painting of four different cars he has owned in his lifetime starting with an old Austin 10 to a Freelander. Finally, over dinner we gave him his last present ~ a rough guide to Venice and a small pop up map of Venice. Urm... not sure what dad thought if I'm honest but I'm sure they will love it once we are there.

Early to bed as up at 4 (and we lose an hour tonight ) to catch our flight.
